FOR PARENTS
EDUCATIONAL ENRICHMENT PROGRAM
PHILOSOPHY:
Our philosophy is one of empowerment through practical application. We believe that parents, equipped with the right knowledge and tools, are the most powerful catalysts for their children's development. We are committed to providing accessible and effective movement-based strategies, empowering parents to confidently unlock their children's full potential and create lasting positive change.
MISSION STATEMENT:
To educate and empower parents with the knowledge and tools to unlock their children's full potential through targeted movement-based strategies.

WHAT ARE PRIMITIVE REFLEXES?
Primitive reflexes are like the building blocks of movement, balance, coordination, learning, and emotional control. When they are integrated properly, they create a strong foundation for more complex skills like crawling, walking, writing, and focusing. If they don’t integrate, kids may face challenges with motor skills, learning, and behavior.

Why are they important?
-
Survival and Protection
-
Motor Development
-
Sensory Integration and Body Awareness
-
Cognitive and Learning Skills
-
Emotional Regulation and Behavior
-
Social Development

What happens when they persist and do not integrate?
If these reflexes don’t integrate properly, it can lead to challenges with:
-
Motor skills (clumsiness, poor balance)
-
Learning (difficulty with writing, reading)
-
Behavior (attention issues, hyperactivity)
-
Posture and coordination
WHY IS YOUR CHILD STRUGGLING IN SCHOOL?
If your child is struggling in school, it’s important to understand that there could be a variety of reasons behind the challenges. Every child learns differently, and difficulties in school don’t necessarily mean a lack of intelligence or effort. Identifying the root cause is key to helping them succeed.

What is ADHD?
ADHD is a unique way some kids' brains work, but it doesn’t affect their intelligence or abilities. In fact, kids with ADHD can be highly creative and energetic! With the right support and strategies, they can learn to stay focused and complete tasks successfully. Having ADHD is completely okay — it just means their brains work in a special and unique way!

What is Dyslexia?
Dyslexia is a learning difference that affects how the brain processes language, especially reading, writing, and spelling. It’s not a sign of low intelligence or lack of effort — in fact, many people with dyslexia are highly creative and think in unique ways. Dyslexia affects the ability to identify sounds in words and connect them to letters, which makes reading and writing more challenging.

What is Dysgraphia?
Kids with dysgraphia often face challenges when it comes to handwriting, spelling, and organizing their thoughts on paper. Even though they may have strong verbal communication skills and a solid understanding of the subject matter, translating their ideas into written form can be frustrating and difficult. This can affect their confidence and performance in school.
EMPOWERING YOUR CHILD THROUGH MOVEMENT AND PLAY
At Reflex Ready Kids, we offer engaging and purposeful activities designed to address the underlying developmental challenges that may be holding your child back. Through targeted movement and play, we support your child's neurological and physical development, helping them build the skills and confidence needed to reach their full potential.

What is Executive Functioning?
Executive functioning refers to a set of mental skills that help kids manage their thoughts, actions, and emotions to achieve goals. These skills are like the brain’s "management system," helping kids plan, focus, remember instructions, and handle multiple tasks. Strong executive functioning helps kids stay organized, control impulses, and adapt to challenges — all important for success in school and life.

What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness teaches kids to slow down, notice their emotions, and respond thoughtfully rather than react impulsively. It helps them develop self-awareness and cope with stress, frustration, and distractions more effectively. It helps kids become more aware of their thoughts, feelings, and surroundings, which can improve their focus, emotional regulation, and overall sense of calm.

How to Improve Retained Primitive Reflexes
Improving retained primitive reflexes involves a combination of targeted exercises, sensory stimulation, and consistent practice to help the brain and nervous system integrate these reflexes. The goal is to stimulate the brainstem (where primitive reflexes originate) and encourage the higher brain centers (like the cerebellum and cortex) to take over control of movement and coordination.

What is Functional Vision?
Functional vision refers to how well the eyes and brain work together to perform everyday tasks like reading, writing, walking, and playing. It’s not just about seeing clearly (visual acuity) — it’s about how the eyes function together to process and make sense of visual information.
Functional vision helps kids track words on a page, judge distances, follow moving objects, and maintain focus without getting tired or frustrated.
